Production area: Ziano (PC) – Near Pozzolo – northeastern exposure


Soil: Clay-silt with calcareous streaks – Altitude 230 m a.s.l.


Training system: Simple Guyot – planting density 3800 vines/ha – yield 7-8 tons/ha


Harvest period: From 15th to 25th September


Vinification: In middle September the grapes get picked in little cases. Successively, it gets destemmed being careful in order not to break the grape and it is left 7 days in basins made out of concrete to macerate. After the racking and the first fermentation, with the arrival of spring, it is introduced the sweet must that had been kept in cold during the harvest period, so that the second fermentation can begin. At this point, the Barbera gets imbottled and the fermentation inside the bottle starts. After this, it is left apart so that the wine can rest at least 12 months before it is put up for sale.

Tasting suggestion: Open the bottle at least 15 minutes before serving in order to let the wine oxygenate
